1. UASB type anaerobic reactors for the treatment of domestic (urban) waste water (sewage) with low investment costs and, in particular, low operation and maintenance costs (O&M), in tropical and Mediterranean countries where the year-round temperature of the wastewater does not drop below 15 degrees.
   
2. Covered anaerobic ponds (with floating plastic covers) for low cost pre-treatment of effluent with high organic content, in particular, effluent from palm oil mills and vinasses from distilleries, and for generating electricity from biogas.

BIOTEC does not provide a single "design" service for end users. In BIOTEC's opinion, independent contracting of design, construction and commissioning phases, whether through custom or state contracting regulation, is the main reason that treatment projects fail in Latin America, and it is fundamental to maintain the responsibility on the shoulders of the designer for all phases of the project.
